Last Sunday, for the third time, I tried the Pinoy Fitness Sub-2 21K Challenge held at the SM MOA area. You read it right, this is the third year of this running event and also my third time to try finishing the 21K distance under 2 hours. Did I make it? Read on to find out.
Last Sunday, I was supposed to run my first 50K at the Clark-Cardimaxx Ultramarathon but had to forego my slot due to conflict of schedule last Saturday. After deciding to forego my first ultramarathon two weeks ago, I decided to register for the UNICEF Heroes for Children Run 2016. For those who are unaware, this is the second year of this run for a cause with the proceeds benefiting UNICEF. This run is also heralded by Anne Curtis and for this year, she was assisted by Coach Rio. Continue reading “UNICEF Heroes for Children Run 2016 race results, race photos, and more” (2700)
Last Sunday my wife and I decided to spend our Valentine’s morning by joining the Run for Life: A Love Run. This running event was organized by DLSU students to raise funds for their project of building a day care center somewhere in Bulacan. The event had three categories namely, 3K, 5K and 10K. We joined the 10K race which started a bit later than what was announced at around 5:35 a.m. The gun start was at the 34th Avenue in BGC and the route went around BGC with the 10K turn around going as far as the Kalayaan Flyover. Last Sunday, I joined the 15K category of the Rayuma Run 2016 at the UP Campus area. This fun run was organized by the Philippine Rheumatology Association and Unilab. Don’t mind the weird title of the event because I’m telling you that with the race route that the participants of this race tackled yesterday, I’m telling you that this was one serious running event. Well, at least for the 15K participants. That’s because the race route was a mixture of rolling hills, steep climb, rugged pavements, dangerous vehicles along the hi-way and even an overpass. Last Sunday, I joined the Men’s Health Philippines Urbanathlon held at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. It was my first time to join the urbanathlon and also my first time to join a foot race with several obstacles along the way. This year’s Men’s Health Urbanathlon only has one distance category, a 10K route that was a mix of road and trail route, mud pits and 15 obstacles along the way. It was a tough race indeed and yet I enjoyed very much. Continue reading “Men’s Health Urbanathlon: Survival of the Fittest race report” (1126)
After the “controversial” cancellation last Sunday due inclement weather, the 38th Milo Marathon Finals finally pushed through yesterday. As Kuya Kim Atienza said, it was a perfect day to establish a new PR since the weather was “supposed” to be good. It was actually a good weather, and there was even a slight downpour after a few hours to give the tired runners a much needed boost to keep them going and reach the finish line still strong. As Runrio announced, Mary Joy Tabal defended her crown in the female division while Rafael Poliquit was this year’s Milo Marathon King. Of all the 21K foot race that I have joined, the recently concluded Pinoy Fitness 21K Challenge is perhaps the hardest one, so far. That’s because not only did I accept the 21K challenge but I decided to accept the Sub 2XU wave wherein you have to finish the 21K distance in less than 2 hours.
This morning I joined the 11K category of the first ever Mak.Run Invitational fun run. This was organised by the non-profit group Our Dreams Inc. and it was held at the UP Academic Oval.
As promised, the 38th Milo Marathon race results are now available for viewing. It’s not yet posted on the Milo Marathon site (as of this time, 7:58 a.m.). But if you click on one of the results for the other regional eliminations, and replace the name of the place to manila, you’ll get the race results for the Milo Marathon Manila Eliminations. 🙂
