Last Sunday, Pinoyfitness.com held this year’s PF Sub-1 10K Challenge at the BGC. For those who are new to this running event, the race requires runners to take up the challenge of finishing the 10K race distance in under an hour.
Similar to last year’s 10K Sub-1 Challenge, this year’s event was a very successful one. According to Jeff Lo, there were more than 3500 runners who registered. As with previous running events, PF once again exceeded my expectations in terms of organization and coordination.
There were ample hyrdation stations along the race route and considering that there were 4 waves during the event, PF sequenced the release of each waves fairly well, ensuring that there were not overcrowding along the route.
It was my second time to join the PF Sub-1 10K Challenge and I’m proud to say that I have beaten my previous record and achieved a new PB for 10K – 52 mins. Last year, I reached the finish line with a record of 55 mins. It wasn’t a sub-50 but then I’m very happy with my run last Sunday. I did not exhaust my self too much and I really run strong considering that all I had two hours before the race was 1 banana and a shot of Primed Virgin Coconut Oil. This was also my fuel source during the Condura Skyway Marathon and I would personally attest to how effective fats as energy source.
Overall, I enjoyed the Pinoy Fitness Sub-1 Challenge this year and I’m looking forward to the Sub-2 21K Challenge soon. (3048)
