Last Sunday, I joined the Pinoy Fitness Sub1 10K Challenge at the SM Mall of Asia. This is my first time to run in this fun and exciting running event having failed to join last year. Before joining this race, I was pretty confident that I could reach the finish line in less than one hour. That’s because, in my past races, I really never had a hard time reaching the 10th km mark within one hour. And so last Sunday, I did it again. I finished the 10K distance with an official time of 55:31. It’s not a new 10K PR for me, but I’m still happy that I get to keep the cool Pinoy Fitness Sub1 10K finisher’s medal.
All those being said, I would have to congratulate Jeff Lo of Pinoy Fitness for another successful running event. Except for the lack of race marshalls in the church near SM MOA, I would have to say that the running event was handled pretty well. There were a huge turn-out of participants including serious runners who want to earn new PR and walkers hoping to get the burst to run fast enough and finish with a sub1 mark.
This is the third year of the Pinoy Fitness Sub1 10K challenge and judging from the success of last Sunday’s event, I don’t see any reason why there will be another next year. Plus of course, the Pinoy Fitness Sub2 21K Challenge in November. Now, that is one event that I’m looking forward to this year.
So, did you break your PR last Sunday? Did you finish with sub1 mark?
