I received this new running shoe called Airia One. Designed by a Swedish company which is said to have more than 170 years in shoe making, Airia One running shoe claims to make you run faster. According to Airia, the Airia One’s construction was inspired by the wheel, to ensure that you achived that perfect feeling of flow when running. You can read more about the Airia Running shoe by simply following this link or read my brief review of the Airia running shoe below.
As a brief backgrounder, I’ve used several running shoes before including an Adidas mid-level running shoe, one of Nike’s Lunar Glide model and just recently, I’ve switched to Saucony. I’ve purchased three Saucony running shoes in a span of two years and these are the Kinvara 4, Guide 7 and Kinvara 5.
When it comes to fit and weight, I would can compare the Airia One running shoe with both the Kinvara 4 and Kinvara 5. All these shoes weighs almost the same. You’ll notice the difference once you’ve worn them and ran a few kilometers using these shoes.
The Airia One running shoes doesn’t have the same soft feel when stepping on the road as compared with the Kinvara. The Vibram sole feels a bit hard (or perhaps in time, this will become softer also?). But that’s not a deal breaker for me since the shoe is still light.
One thing that makes the Airia One running shoes different from the rest of the running shoes that I’ve seen is used are its looks and construction. Either you’ll love it or completely hate it. The Airia One running shoe has a unique molded outsole that to be honest will take awhile get to get used. According to Airia, this unique design makes you run faster due to less contact with the ground.
Did it make me run faster? Well, I have yet to test this on a real race. But that will take some more time of using the Airia One running shoes on the treadmill to avoid hurting my foot.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for a running shoe that is quite different from other running shoes available in the market today, check out the Airia One. It retails for $190 and available for online order for now. (3146)
