As mentioned in my previous post, my wife is giving me a new pair of running shoes as a Christmas gift. So, I’ve been scouting for what running shoes to buy. First it has to be reasonably priced since my wife is the one paying for it and we agreed on a price. It must not be more expensive than Php 5,000. Fortunately, while most high-end running shoes are priced more than that price, there’s one which has been receiving accolades from running shoes expert – the Saucony Kinvara 4.
The Saucony Kinvara 4 is actually an upgraded version of a previously released Saucony Kinvara running shoes. Reviewers say that there’s not much difference when it comes to the aesthetics of the shoes. The upgrade is more on the performance. In fact, Runner’s World calls this shoes as the year’s best updated shoes.
The Running Shoes Guru has this to say about the Saucony Kinvara 4:
All told, I like what Saucony did when it came to the Kinvara 4—no big changes, no drastic redesign, and nothing overly gimmicky. The Kinvara 4 is a lesson in successful branding—the shoe has a following, has a design aesthetic, and has creature comforts and fit characteristics that its customers have come to expect. With such a popular shoe, it would be silly to make major changes. Saucony created the perfect reboot to a well-designed shoe, opting for smaller changes which hearken back to earlier models while still offering a fresh take on a familiar classic. I’m interested in seeing where this model goes from here—with its design fairly cemented, it will be interesting to see what future iterations bring.
All those being said. I’ve decided to get this running shoes. What do you think? Did I make the right decision?
